The next step is to gather the required information for the ISF filing, including details about the importer, seller, buyer, manufacturer, and consignee, as well as information about the cargo itself. Timing is crucial, as the ISF must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the cargo being loaded onto the vessel. Utilizing a customs broker can be beneficial in navigating the complex customs regulations and ensuring accurate and compliant ISF filing. Maintaining communication with the customs broker and monitoring the ISF status and CBP messages are important for a successful filing process.
