The Chief William Commanda Bridge, formerly known as the Prince of Wales Bridge, is a pedestrian and cycling bridge that spans the Ottawa River between Ottawa, Ontario, and Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. It connects the Trillium Pathway in Ottawa to the Voyageurs Pathway in Gatineau1. Named after Chief William Commanda, an Algonquin elder who served as chief of the Kitigan Zibi Anishinābeg First Nation and was awarded the Order of Canada, this bridge fills a gap of about four kilometers between the Portage and Champlain bridges. It provides a scenic route near Bayview Station in Ottawa and the southern tip of Gatineau Park on the other side2. 🌉🚴‍♂️🚶‍♀️
