5 Reasons you should NOT get an Akita dog!

As stated in the video, these are just 5 reasons. They are not necessarily the Top 5 reasons, nor are the they only reasons. They're just 5 reasons that I chose.

Also - as stated in the video - not all dogs are the same. Dogs are their own unique personality first, before they are a breed. That means you could get a dog that completely defies the standard for that breed. For example, the Belgian Malinois is renowned for being a great Police Dog, but not all Malinois can be Police Dogs. Therefore, despite what I list here, there may be many Akitas that don't fit any of these concerns. However, that would be the exception and I am speaking towards the rule.

Why did I create this video? Because not everyone should be looking to purchase an Akita as the Akita is not suited for every owner or every home. They are gorgeous dogs and a lot of people get them based purely on their looks. This leads to a lot of people being unprepared for the challenges of owning a breed like this. This video is to serve as a "You better know what you're doing!" type of warning to casual shoppers.

Don't risk your dog's life or happiness nor the lives of other dogs and animals based purely on cosmetic attraction to this breed. Know what you're getting yourself into.

The American Akita is my favorite breed, and my Akita Kinjo is my favorite dog I've ever owned. We are best pals. However, he has been a challenge and has pushed me to become a better dog parent due to the challenges he brings.
