I would think that waiters pouring your wine for you dates from when they used special decanters, such as the Spanish Porron Wine Decanter, which have very narrow spouts and aid aeriation of the wine. No idea if how you pour the wine affects it if you simply pour it out of the bottle but would suspect it is just a hangover from older times (and of course in some more discerning circles they probably still use the special decanters). One of my all time favorite fighters is " Irish Mickey Ward". He was famous for his debilitating " liver Punch":. With one well placed shot below the rib cage, with an upward trajectory & a velocity of 300 plus fppsi . Mickey stopped many better fighters, not by going for the KO but a TKO stoppage!. In one memorable bout vs a top prospect with a 17-0 winning record. Ward lost all of the initial 9 Rounds by a wide margin then with an artist's flourish " Bam" a perfect Liver Shot,& the opponent never recovered - TKO !!!!
