The insane moment that a police station goes up in flames

Day One of Ten Days of Rage/Hunger Protests: 1 August 2024

It is only day one of the hunger protests and we have learnt of 10 fatalities. The videos are already circulating within the Nigerian community within the diaspora, and I have already seen one gruesome video myself following alleged shooting in Abuja with 4 people lying dead. I cannot show these videos on social media because of the community guidelines as well as sensitivity to the loved ones of those who have lost their lives.

I have seen another video with a protester bleeding profusely with their clothing soaked with blood as they are led away. As you will see in this grainy video a Police station is being burnt. Unconfirmed reports say that the station is in Gwagwalada Local Government Area, Abuja.

As many have observed, the impetus for this protest is from the north and possibly the middle belt. Southerners are accustomed to being tear gassed and shot at during protests. Northerners do not protest as much so it is a surprise that Tinubu’s forces appear to have shot and killed across the north ad middle belt in one day. This does not bode well for Tinubu.
