FIRES THREATEN HOMES NEAR PALISADE MOUNTAIN!

Day 2 of the Alexander Fire (7.30.24) .. After a nice clear cool night without smoke and minimal spot fires over the ridge, the smoke blew up again today. Firefighters were doing more door to door checks, and suggested I pack up and move out with the fire now reaching Cedar Cove only a mile away! So I guess it's time to take things a little more seriously .. I end up spending the rest of the day cooking breakfast, sipping on some iced chai, water the garden (not sure why) and eventually getting some of my essentials packed up in the car. So as of today there are multiple fires raging across the foothills from Loveland, to Lyons, to Golden .. Sure makes you wonder if these aren't intentional. Authorities say this, the largest of Colorado's current wildfires is under investigation. So stay tuned for part two when the fires finally crest the top of Palisade Mountain!
