Bibi's Reckless Endangerment in the Name of Revenge

Netanyahu promised he would bring the hostages home; then he ordered the murder of the Hamas' chief negotiator at a crucial moment in finalizing an agreement. The reckless actions in the name of revenge put at risk the lives of not just the remaining hostages, but everyone in the Middle East, including Israelis, as a wider war is set to ignite. Did Bibi get a go-ahead from the U.S. for this? Did he take the howls of support from the gaggle of hyenas in the U.S. Congress as a signal that the U.S. would "have his back"?
