As part of a planned exercise to protect and defend bases and sea communications, the Baltic Fleet forces carried out artillery fire at targets simulating warships and air attack assets of a mock enemy.

The firing was carried out by the crews of the small anti-submarine ship Aleksin and the missile boats Dimitrovgrad and Morshansk as part of an episode on the simulation of an artillery battle with surface ships of a mock enemy, as well as on conducting a battle with a single ship and air attack weapons. In addition to artillery firing, the missile boats practiced electronic missile launches at sea targets.

Combat ships and boats of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia for the Kaliningrad Region were also involved in the exercise in order to practice inter-service interaction. Their crews, in cooperation with the forces of the Baltic Fleet deployed at sea, practiced a set of measures to protect and defend sea communications and fleet basing points.

Large-scale exercises of the Navy forces under the general leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseyev are being held in the areas of responsibility of the Northern, Pacific, Baltic fleets and the Caspian flotilla. The crews of ships, naval aviation units and coastal troops will have to perform over 300 combat exercises with practical use of weapons. The main goal of the exercises is to check the actions of the military command bodies of the Navy at all levels, as well as the readiness of the crews of ships, naval aviation units and coastal troops of the Russian Navy to perform their intended tasks.
