At our old flat the pukekos would "mow" the grass!

With a graceful claw held to its beak, one would pick up a strand of bermuda grass (what the "lawn" mostly was) and nibble it down like a cob of corn. They'd do it all day, whenever they'd mosey up from the stream...really just a catchment drain to the sea...but ducks nested there too, and the occasional heron would turn up looking for eels!
