QUESTION:To be fair But do be fair I think He is saying that the boston school places such a focus on the technique or manner in which you paint to such a degree that it lacks that spirit of experimentation or spark. Do you have the eyes to see their particular experiments? I cant say I agree with him because i havent seen a lot of your work in particular but i do agree with the critique of the boston school in general. When I browse the work its almost impossible for me to figure out which is which artist, they all look the same because they are all painting in the same manner. Schools It unfortunately puts such a rigid focus on principles that are more about Learning to see getting a great painting Picture makers all so that it seems to me to have pumped out a lot of guys that just paint the same. Principles and technique are good but at a certain point you have to put it all aside and paint instinctively and react quickly instead of methodically (in my opinion) I dont see any unique voice in it like you see when you look at a Zorn, Sorolla or even a Sargent. Instead they all look like students of Sargent to me. Its a little to up iin your head intellectual and lacks that deep emotional aspect i look for
