The Terrifying Effects of Russia's ODAB-1500 Bomb in Ukraine

Day by day, Russia's use of mass-launched bombs has been shocking as they rain down on Ukrainian cities. Recently, the deployment of the ODAB-1500, which had been stored like a precious gem, suddenly launched and shook Ukraine in Velyka Pysarivka, Sumy region. The ODAB-1500 had been a topic of conversation before its launch, but the footage that circulated on social media platform Telegram on April 1, 2024, sparked various perspectives. This wasn’t the first time it was used. Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, denied reports that Russia had deployed the ODAB-1500 in Ukraine for the first time, stating it had been used more than once on the front lines and during active operations of the Russian Volunteer Corps and Freedom of Russia Legion in Russian territory.

It seems Russia enjoys using deadly toys that keep confusing Ukraine. These cheap bombs become even more interesting with the addition of folding wings and satellite navigation. President Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned that 3.000 such bombs were dropped in March alone. Imagine how many of these bombs have been launched and caused destruction. This situation continues to leave Ukraine without answers on how to protect its cities from such attacks.
