Why is the tax system so complicated?

The government needs to STOP spending money right now! Not "reduce spending" or "reduce the rate of growth"! It needs to STOP! We need to gut all of the government agencies! We need to fire 95% of the government workers in this country and put those people to work actually being productive for a change instead of sitting behind a desk forty hours a week coming up with more regulations for the poor working man to follow!
