Running Away after Breaking his Phone (June 2022)

Andrew describes the events which led him to sitting in the park or playground: he broke his phone “because Dad twisted my words” (that is, Andrew broke it a tantrum) then demanded his father take him to buy another, as he (Andrew) had a $400 gift card to use. Tom asked why he should do that when Andrew is just going to break it as well. Andrew then beat himself in the head, threatened to jump in front of traffic, and ran from the home.

Police arrive at the park after being called there by Jan. The police offer to take Andrew to a shelter and he, of course, refuses their help. He ultimately decides to go back to his parents' home.
