THEY KEEP LOSING CONTROL OF “CONTROL BURN” BACKING FIRES

Unbelievable.

In the midst of the hellish “Park Fire”, CalFire is doing the same “firing operations” with fire ball dropping drones that caused an additional 300,000 acres worth of damage during the Dixie Fire of 2021, AT THE EXACT TIME OF YEAR under the highest risk conditions.

In the first video posted 7-27-24 on the YouTube channel “The Lookout”, is an excerpt taken around the 55 minute 50 second mark. In it, fire enthusiast Zeke Lunder gets almost giddy reminiscing about the days surrounding the firing operations during the Dixie Fire of 2021. By the end of July of 2021, the Dixie Fire had been burning for two weeks and had pretty much extinguished itself and had died down after some rain. But what did CalFire decide to do? Apparently, under the instruction of this guy Zeke, they bombed 30 miles of Humboldt Rd with fire balls dropped from dripping blowtorch flying drones. He goes on to explain that an “unexpected” atmospheric weather event in early August of ‘21 caused an inversion layer shift, igniting the seemingly ineffective firing operation into an all out inferno that burned an additional 600,000 acres “on accident”. This destroyed everything between Humboldt Road and Lake Almanor, and all the way up into Greenville, Keddie Ridge, and Hurlong, and has spawned a litany of lawsuits by Collins Pines Co. He infuses stunningly flip exclamations like “uh oh”, “Oops”, “Dang!!” and “yikes!” when displaying explosive burn progression imagery on his computer. In Zeke’s own words, “Like it or not, that’s how we do things”. He then draws parallels between the Dixie Fire and the current Park Fire, proceeds to make remarks about their astonishing similarities , i .e. the exact same time of year, weather conditions, terrain, surrounding neighborhoods and timberlands, etc. - and then makes the dizzying conclusion that it’s a heads or tails gamble as to the outcome of ANOTHER high risk firing operation already under way on the Park Fire and says the ethics for it are up for debate? WHAT THE WHAAAAT?!?!? You also will see Zeke’s intolerance of free speech and the prompt intervention of his moderators to silence any dissent. Just, wow.

In the second video posted the next day, 7-28-24, Zeke happily declares that he’s conveniently out of state and then again proceeds to draw parallels between the current Park Fire and the Dixie Fire. But this time, he does a much more brief walk through the burn scar and trajectory of the Dixie Fire and clarifies that it was indeed a total 600,000 over an additional two weeks AFTER it had died down from its first two weeks of burning. But this time, he FAILS to mention WHY it got reignited in the first place- his fire ball dropping drones!!! A “control burn” that UTTERLY lost control. Then he proceeds to sadistically taunt the already traumatized residents of Magalia with the fact that yes, indeed, they are doing the same thing along HWY 32 RIGHT NOW, as we speak, that they did to Humboldt Rd during the Dixie Fire, and that it could very well have the exact same disastrous results- even as far off as a month from now! This knowledge looming as residents of Magalia and Paradise mysteriously got their evacuation warning status reduced to red flag zone as of this afternoon 7-29-24. With what we know from these videos, this lends precarious sense of relief at best and a false sense of security at worst.

How anyone can stand listening to this guy is beyond comprehension. His videos have the effect of being slowly hit in the head with a hammer.

The third video in this montage is an update Kelly Saam of Action News Now gave this morning, 7-29-24 at 4 am, specifically discussing the parameters of these fire ball dropping operations. You can’t make this stuff up.

The fourth is a short video about these dripping blow torch drones being used by crews. Since when did fire “fighters” become highly paid arsonists?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. As people in Paradise and Magalia are afraid to leave their homes and keep prone-to-escape, indoor/outdoor cats inside much to their dismay, waiting for evacuation warnings to turn into an order, on a dime, we are at the mercy of the likes of this “Zeke Lunder” and their braggadocio whims.
