Electoral authorities declared Maduro the winner despite exit polls showing the opposite.

Venezuela’s opposition claims that Edmundo González was the true winner.

"The Venezuelans and the entire world know what happened," González said.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the U.S. has some "serious concerns" about the election and said he would be "watching very closely."

"We have serious concerns that the result announced does not reflect the will or the votes of the Venezuelan people."

"The international community is watching this very closely and will respond accordingly."
