"California Poppies" Abstract Expressionist Oil Painting 16x20

Hello there friends. I have a friend who's wife had asked if I could paint her some California Poppies. I looked up what they were. I was really not sure if I could do it. He told me that I could create my interpretation of them. I have been thinking about these off and on now for a few months. I had brought it up to him again and he said do it however you think. You are the artist. I had not been thinking about that and then I had started painting this. The Poppies have this orange and red color to them. As I started painting this piece. I could not get that color out of my head and the redish orange in he middle made me think of them. I then just kept going with that color and the poppies in my mind. I wasn't sure but I kept going. I was thinking of other things for this to be called but that idea wouldn't get out of my head. Thus this is what my interpretation of “California Poppies” is. They offered a trade. She is an amazing cook and I was told that I could get one of her amazing treats in trade. I have finally come up with the idea. I hope she likes it.
