Ukrainian conscripts escape van at last minute

Three Ukrainian men managed to escape the draft at the last minute after sneaking out of a conscription van while it was stopped at a gas station. The viral video shows three men escaping from a vehicle belonging to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC) in Ukraine, mere moments before the TRC employees return. After the men ran, the TRC employees attempted to chase, but to no avail.

TRC vans have become an increasing, and increasingly unwelcome, sight on Ukraine’s streets, as Ukraine attempts to deal with its crippling manpower shortage. Another common sight are the ‘Not TRC’ signs seen on vans, in an attempt to deter vandals from targeting the wrong vans.
