Saturday Night's Main Event XXII aired July 29, 1989 on NBC, from Worcester, Massachusetts, at the Worcester Centrum. During the Randy Savage-Brutus Beefcake match, Zeus appeared at ringside and interfered on Savage's behalf. Hulk Hogan came to aid Beefcake but was unable to hurt Zeus. The events of this match was one of the pieces to help set up the main event of SummerSlam.
