Former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all counts in his Manhattan hush money trial. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying New York business records in order to conceal damaging information and unlawful activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election. District Attorney Alvin Bragg was able to convince the jury that former President Trump falsified business records in New York State to conceal another crime. The Biden administration used the verdict to fundraise. However, in the first 24 hours following the verdict, the Trump Campaign has raised $52.8 million through the online digital fundraising platform which rounds out to more than $2 million per hour. The next step will be sentencing, which Merchan will deliver July 11 at 10 a.m. just four days before the opening of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
On this episode of Perspective, Scottie Nell Hughes and her panel (Lionel, Legal & Media Analyst, Host, Lionel Nation; Gavin Wax, President, New York Young Republicans; Robert Patillo // Civil Rights Attorney & Political Activist) take a look at whether or not Trump will end up in jail, can he still vote, what rights he does lose, and how this will impact the other cases he is facing.
