Ramrod (1947)

Directed by Andre DeToth, based on a story by Luke Short. The film stars Joel McCrea as Dave Nash, a drifting cowboy who is recruited by the determined and independent Connie Dickason (Veronica Lake) to manage her ranch and protect it from a ruthless cattle baron, Frank Ivey (Preston Foster).
