JOH 1:9, I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Yeshua, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of GOD and the testimony of Yeshua.
John moved from the Holy Land to the city of Ephesus in his latter years. So, these letters (and indeed the Gospel of John) were written when he was the last apostle still alive who had touched HIM, saw HIM, talked to HIM, listened to HIM, ate with HIM, walked with HIM on the dusty roads.
The Gospel of John is written “so that you may believe that Yeshua is the Christ, the Son of GOD, and that believing in HIM, you may have eternal life in HIS NAME (JOH 20:31). The Letter of First John is written “to you a who believe in the name of the Son of GOD, so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1JOH 5:13).
1. 1:4, We write this to make our (your, our) joy complete.2. In CH 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
3. I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. These were the false teachers who were leading the new Christians away from Christianity.4. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of GOD so that you may know that you have eternal life.
MAT 4:21-22, “Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Yeshua called them, and immediately (yoo toose or you thay os) they left the boat and their father and followed HIM.”
