July 2024 President’s Message - "Fight, Fight, Fight!"

We all just witnessed the assassination attempt against our 45th President, who is also now the Republican nominee for the Presidential race in November. This man, as we all know, has been through the trauma of spiritual, mental, legal, and now physical attacks. Through the grace of God, he has survived it all. Actually, he has not only survived but thrived through it all. And in this last attempt to force him to give up the fight, we witnessed him cock his head slightly to the right at the exact instant that the bullet, with a trajectory to enter at about his right temple, instead pierced his ear.

After this event, I, like many of you, was taken back to the multiple assassinations that some of us have lived through in the past. I was just 5 years old, walking home from school when a friend called across the street to tell me that “Kennedy was shot.” I ran home from there to see my mother and brother glued to the black and white, watching Walter Cronkite reporting the details as they unfolded. As things were revealed to us, even at that young age, I recall considering how inconceivable that event was. Later, I began to see the conspiratorial aspects of the event, which today are in plain sight for anyone with the ability to think critically about the events of that November day and the subsequent occurrences that followed, which, in my opinion, have locked the truth away from us for decades.

Since Donald J. Trump ascended to the Presidency, I have repeatedly said that God chooses imperfect men to do His work. We see this biblically with His selection of David, Paul, and many others. This, I believe, is also the case with the selection of this man to lead our nation out of the abyss that it has fallen into.

But I want you all to take full note of the actions of the President after he was shot. First, he dropped to the ground, which any combat veteran knows is rule number one. However, when he got up, he recognized the need to assure the thousands in the audience that not only was he alright, but he was still in the fight. Standing erect, surrounded by Secret Service agents, he pumped his fist in the air and repeatedly said, “Fight, Fight, Fight.” That was the true sign of a leader. Once he knew that he was alright, his goal was to reassure those who witnessed the event that he was still in the fight. He went to the hospital and then flew home. His next goal was to offer condolences to the family of Corey Comperatore, who was shot and killed that day while shielding his wife and daughter with his body. President Trump also offered support to those who were shot and critically injured. This was not only a sign of leadership but also of compassion and humility.

So, what else did our 45th and soon-to-be 47th President mean when he yelled out “Fight, Fight, Fight”? He meant what he has emulated to us all since the Russia, Russia, Russia nonsense all began. Keep your foot on the gas and don’t give up!

But how should we “Fight, Fight, Fight,” you might ask? Well, for one thing, we must engage. Merely sitting on the couch, searching the internet, or watching TV about all the bad things that are happening to our great Republic definitely is not fighting. Watching the ball game and rooting for the Phillies isn’t fighting either. Those are just diversions and, quite frankly, a waste of our energy and potential effort.

So, what should we do to “Fight, Fight, Fight”? To all too many, the answer may seem too daunting and overwhelming, and many don’t even know where to start. So, let’s simplify the task by stepping back and taking a look for a moment at what you may have missed by not being engaged in over the last three years. These are just a few of the accomplishments of those who chose to engage in the efforts of STN. Our State Legislative Committee, School Board Committee, and our Leadership Team were able to spearhead the effort to see that three conservative Christian candidates were elected to our local School Board. If more had chosen to be a part of that team effort, perhaps we could have had all five of the candidates who ran become elected members of our local School Board. Through the efforts of Scott and his team of door knockers and STN’s State Legislative Committee, we were the only region to have Mark Houck win every precinct in his bid for Congress. Our volunteers organized at Morning Star Fellowship Church in Quakertown, and at the First Friday event in East Greenville, and were able to register many voters who otherwise wouldn’t have voted. Through our Events Committee, we were able to hold two rallies and multiple educational programs like our Constitution Class. Our Second Amendment Committee was able to train gun owners about proper firearms handling and safety. All of these efforts align with STN’s three Core Values.

So, what can you do to “Fight, Fight, Fight” as President Trump recommended to all of us? First of all, you must get involved in the solutions by engaging. STN needs your skills to help us with upcoming events and elections. We have a lot coming up. We are also in the process of hiring a part-time employee to manage our social media, so if you know of anyone with those skills, please send them our way. Our Second Amendment Committee’s gun raffle is coming up, and we will need your help on this project as well. The bottom line is “Fight, Fight, Fight” means get off the couch and get engaged in the solutions. We can turn the tide on what is occurring to our great Republic, but we need your help to do it. Don’t expect someone else to do the work; you must help lift the load and get us all across the finish line!
