Two weeks after Donald Trump was nearly assassinated at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former president confirmed on his Truth Social page that he would resume outdoor rallies, but with extra Secret Service protection.

Trump posted: "I WILL CONTINUE TO DO OUTDOOR RALLIES, AND SECRET SERVICE HAS AGREED TO SUBSTANTIALLY STEP UP THEIR OPERATION. THEY ARE VERY CAPABLE OF DOING SO. NO ONE CAN EVER BE ALLOWED TO STOP OR IMPEDE FREE SPEECH OR GATHERING!!!"

The announcement came hours after the FBI confirmed in a statement that it was indeed a bullet that struck the former president’s ear.

The FBI statement read, “what struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle.”

The agency wanted to clear up conflicting accounts of what caused Trump’s injuries after a gunman opened fire on him, killing retired fire chief Corey Comperatore, and wounding two other supporters.

Federal investigators identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, but said it does not have a clear idea of his motive.

LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow spoke with FOX's CB Cotton about the latest details on the investigation.
