Here's a simple and delicious Tater Tot Casserole recipe:
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
1 package (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it's no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a large bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
Combine Ingredients:
Add the cooked beef mixture to the bowl with the sauce. Stir until everything is well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the Casserole:
Spread the beef and sauce mixture evenly in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top of the beef mixture.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
Add Cheese:
Sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tater tots. Return to the oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.
