British expat living in the US struck down by a stroke just one month after dream lake house wedding

A Brit who moved to the US to start a life with his new bride suffered a huge stroke a few weeks later which left him unable to walk and talk - and with a $200k medical bill.

William Young, 23, and Courtney Bartles, 26, fell in love at a summer camp in 2015 and stayed in touch over WhatsApp and Snapchat after William returned to the UK.

Then in December 2016, the smitten journalist proposed to outpatient registrar Courtney with his great grandmother's engagement ring during a vacation in New York.
