All We Have is Present Value

When I was in grad school, I would enjoy calculating net present value because I like to see the the sum of all the future cash flows. When I left grad school, I seldom and almost rarely use NPV.

Ironically, everyone trained in finance knows that time value is based on investing today in the hopes of a larger return on investment in the future. I would beg to differ knowing what I know now. The supposition is based on time. We think there is an infinite amount of time. BUT TIME IS VALUABLE. It’s more precious than gold, diamond or any rare gem. So investing wisely is important but living in the moment is key.

I have know family and friends who have said they will travel or go to places or do things when they retire. By the time they retire, they are too tired and too old to want to do anything they set out to do. It’s important to remember to live in the present moment and enjoy what you have now. Rather than plan too far out into the future to never get the opportunity to experience it.

Speaking of investment. the equity market is bullish. For all those high risk takers, leave us a stock tip in the comment below.
