Dead Reckoning (1947)
"Dead Reckoning" is an American film noir thriller released in 1947, directed by John Cromwell. The plot follows Captain "Rip" Murdock (Humphrey Bogart), a war hero who sets out to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of his friend, Johnny Drake (William Prince). During his investigation, Rip encounters the alluring Coral "Dusty" Chandler (Lizabeth Scott), who becomes entangled in the mystery and may hold the key to unraveling the truth. As Rip delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit, betrayal, and dangerous secrets that put his life at risk.
