Ludwig Van Beethoven (1780-1827) was born in Bonn Germany. At the age of 22 he moved to Vienna, the music capital of Europe.

He was a prodigious composer and virtuoso pianist. He composed works in many of the genres of classical music, including symphonies, concertos, string quartets, piano sonatas and opera.

Beethoven composed nine symphonies. Symphony No. 4 was composed in 1806 and represented a break from the wildly expressive style of Symphony No. 3 and Symphony 5,
despite the fact it was composed at the same time of his Symphony No. 5 composition.

Symphony No. 4 marked a brief return to the "classical" style with a more cheerful and upbeat emotional evocation.
