This episode we speak to two current members, Ronahi and Raperin, of the Women’s Protection Units or YPJ, an all-female militia that is closely affiliated with the YPG and part of the the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), also known as Rojava. Our guests are two international fighters who travelled to Rojava to participate and learn from the revolution.

The YPJ was instrumental in defeating ISIS in Syria and aided in the saving of 10,000 Yazidi peoples from genocide in 2014 when they liberated them from ISIS. We cover what the YPJ is, we cover their philosophies and ideology as well as discussing the paths taken by these fighters to get where they are today and;
