There are many environmental issues which matter. Climate change is a naturally occurring event and we are currently in one of the coolest periods, with some of the lowest concentrations of carbon dioxide in history. There is also no evidence that carbon and temperature are related.

So why so much focus on carbon and climate change when the impoverished have no safe garbage disposal and are forced to live in squalor which harms waterways, wildlife, and human health? Speaking at the World Economic Forum, a 'think tank' helping the rich to concentrate their wealth via policy ideas sold to the masses as being for the greater good, Jesper Brodin, CEO of IKEA, describes why. The term used for this is money laundering.

"Resource smart, nature smart, climate smart is cost smart...Carbon is not only a huge existentialistic problem for humanity, it's the biggest cost factor in any value chain..."
