The Serpent as a Cultural Symbol for Seafaring

In doing the research on possible connections between the Book of Mormon Jaredites and Joseph of Egypt, there was a consistent symbol that began to reappear over and over again--it was the symbol of the serpent to represent seafaring. It spans millennia, cultures and continents. Here I compile the information in a presentation that demonstrates the serpent symbol being used for over 3500 years beginning with Minoa and running all the way through to the Viking era.
