Deadpool & Wolverine Set to be Highest R-Rated Movie Opening

The early projections for Deadpool & Wolverine suggests it can become the highest grossing opening weekend ever for an R-rated movie and a much needed victory for the stagnant Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The last couple of years have been trouble for Marvel with the studio seemingly throwing various ideas at the wall to see what sticks. So far very little has worked with some reporting suggesting the studio hasn’t made a profit at the box office since 2022. This latest Deadpool installment with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman back in the role of Wolverine could be the help they need, even if the success doesn’t carry over to future Marvel movies for Disney.
