The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released surveillance camera video, body camera, picture and details about an officer involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the 8400 block of Blanding Boulevard.

"A win for solid police work and collective efforts between law enforcement agencies in the arrest of robbery suspect that ended with a police-involved shooting with no injuries to the officer." - Clermont Police Department (FL) in a released.
The man charged with robbing a Clermont restaurant and a Lake County pharmacy Tuesday was arrested Wednesday after he pointed a gun at a Jacksonville Sheriff�s Officer Joshua Collier who recognized him as a suspect in two local robberies.
The 37-year-old Brenton A. Paquin Vermont remains in a Jacksonville hospital after he was shot when he ignored directions, pushed past the officer, and pointed a firearm. The Jacksonville Sheriff Officer was not injured.
Standard police practice is to immediately share crime and suspect information. Lake County Sheriff's Deputies sent out details of the armed robbery immediately after responding to the south Lake County pharmacy, and because of that system, Clermont Police Officers had those details when a few hours later, the Clermont restaurant in the 2200 block of U.S. Highway 27 was robbed by an armed man fitting the same description.
Very specific information on the suspect, the gun, and the truck used in the local robberies was shared statewide with other law enforcement agencies and that level of detail helped prepare the Jacksonville officer when he approached the potentially dangerous suspect. The suspect is also a person of interest in a Vermont murder.
This case is a perfect example of how important the systems we use to share critical details with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies immediately following a violent incident. Because this communication system works, other law enforcement officers are quickly and efficiently provided pertinent information. And in this case this Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer was given good information that allowed him to find this dangerous individual, Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway said.
Brenton Paquin was charged with:
Clermont PD: armed robbery, aggravated assault
Lake County SO: robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
Jacksonville SO: attempted murder of an LEO
