Coward Deputy Sean Grayson shoots Sonya Massey in the head for rebuking him in the name of Jesus

When the deputies knocked on the door, it took Massey three minutes to answer. She immediately said, "Don’t hurt me," and seemed confused as they spoke. She repeated that she needed help, referenced God, and told them she didn't know who owned the car.

Once inside the house, the deputies appeared frustrated as Massey sat on her couch and searched her purse for identification. One of the deputies, Sean Grayson, noticed a pot on a lit stove and expressed concern about a potential fire. Massey moved the pot near the sink, and they shared a laugh over her "steaming hot water."

However, the situation escalated when Massey suddenly said, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus." Grayson responded with profanity and threatened to shoot her if she didn't drop the pot. Massey apologized and raised her hands, but Grayson shot her in the head.

After the shooting, Grayson discouraged his partner from getting a medical kit to help Massey, stating that it was a headshot and there was nothing they could do. However, they eventually attempted to stop the bleeding.

Grayson later told responding police that Massey had come at him with boiling water and that he shot her in self-defense. However, Massey's family and their lawyer, Ben Crump, disputed this account, stating that Massey needed help, not a bullet to her face. Crump noted that Massey had undergone treatment for mental health issues and had invoked God's name throughout the encounter.

Massey's father, James Wilburn, demanded transparency and accountability from the county court system in their investigation and prosecution of the shooting. Grayson is facing life in prison for murder.
