The Constitution and Other Writings 1.1-
The Mayflower Compact- It was the first "Rule of Law" that applied to the newcomers on the Mayflower to set up a colonized civilization in the New World.
The Silence Dogood Letters- The first newspaper in America was the New England Courant, run by Benjamin Franklin's older brother. Benjamin Franklin who was 16 in 1722, wanted to write for the paper, but his older brother would not allow Ben to write for the newspaper. Ben Franklin came up with a genius idea to get his stories in the Newspapers. So he came up with the alias of Silence Dogood, who was a elderly widowed woman, and wrote the first letters in the first American Newspaper.
