NESMETAL - ENTHRALLED (Full EP, 2010)

After completing "VOID" (2009) and a handful of singles for various compilations thereafter, I got to work on a follow-up EP in the summer of 2010.

Track 03 - "The Risk", was the first song I started with (got re-acquainted with the sounds [ drum samples and strings ] I had been working with/developing/tweaking with each new album up until 2009 - I think that's pretty apparent by the overall mix - it didn't turn out the greatest, haha - anyway...).

I had always (and still do) wanted the music and melodies to "speak for themselves", BUT I also wanted this "return to form" to be something special. Different. So.... VOCALS!

I also enlisted my good friend, Ian Scott, to do some guitar work on the 2nd track, "Labyrinth".

Ian, by the way, currently holds the world record for the Ninja Gaiden (NES) "Any % " speedrun (still to this day). Totally nuts, and awesome. And he's a swell guy. Originally, the "Enthralled EP" was released in 2010 on Pterodactyl Squad; 3 brand new songs and 4 bonus tracks (the various singles mentioned above).

For this video though (and for the download on my bandcamp page), I decided to tack on another single that was released in 2014, exclusively on Chiptunes=WIN! VOL. 3.

So, cool. An EXTRA song!
