There are times in our journey towards the Heavenly Jerusalem we are going to feel a powerful determination to do something. It is more like a striking force of God's power moving within our hearts that breaks away from the crowd, friends and family.
It is a source greater than ourselves, yet it is in ourselves, in the power of our will in fiery obedience to do it even if we have to go alone. Yet, there is an absolute knowing it is a charge from the Lord and only intensifies until it is performed.
Paul the Apostle in his missionary journey was warned three times not to go up to Jerusalem. First by certain disciples in Tyre who said to him "through the spirit" that he should not go up. Then the prophet Agabus who said "Thus saith the Lord," in demonstrating a frightening prophecy, deterring Paul not to go up.
Finally, Paul's company and those in Stephen the evangelist's house "besought him" not to go up. Realizing Paul had made up his mind they stopped begging and said, "The will of the Lord be done."
Paul made it to Jerusalem and testified of Jesus Christ before all Jerusalem. He was arrested and brought before King Agrippa and bore testimony of Jesus Christ powerfully.
David had three discouraging voices from powerful sources. His eldest brother Eliab, King Saul and Goliath. Yet, without a sword and only a smooth stone and sling defeated a giant. He mightily proclaimed the name of the Lord bearing testimony of God's divine sovereignty over heaven and earth to all the armies of the Philistines, the enemies of God.
Never be afraid to step out alone even if nobody understands. Even those who love you that are just trying to shield you. Even if people chop you down and accuse you for your daring to go out in humble, yet courageous bravery.
Set your face towards Jerusalem and be like "a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race."
"Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone! Dare to have a purpose firm! Dare to make it known."
