Radio conversations of the VKS Su-34 crew fleeing a Patriot attack.

The crew was tasked to attack a Ukrainian military target with four FAB guided bombs. While approaching the target, the Su-34 was detected by Ukrainian air defense systems.

A cover plane with the call sign "Krysha" detected anti-aircraft missile launches at the Su-34 and relayed the information to its crew. The pilots began maneuvering to avoid being hit by the missiles. Meanwhile, the cover aircraft detected NASAMS air defense systems and fired a Kh-31P anti-radar missile at them.

The Patriot SAMs then began firing at the Su-34. One of the missiles was fired at a distance of 60 kilometers from the Russian aircraft and was shot down by Russian anti-aircraft gunners. Two more were distracted by heat traps. The airplane sustained damage. The crew survived.
