Manchester United signed 18-year-old Lille phenom Lenny Euro in a £52 million transfer.

Euro completed his medical in England on Tuesday and agreed personal terms with United that will see him sign a five-year deal with the Premier League giants and secure his future at Old Trafford until at least 2029. If he achieves certain sporting goals, the transfer fee could rise to £60 million.

Euro was born in the suburbs of Paris. Originally from the Ivory Coast, his family moved to Lille when he was 6 years old. He joined Lille's academy at the age of 12 in 2017 and his rapid progress through the youth system led to his selection for France's under-17 and under-18 teams. At just 16 years, six months and one day old, Euro played for Lille against Nice, making him the club's second-youngest player, even ahead of Belgian legend Eden Hazard.

It has been reported that Erik Ten Hach is looking to further strengthen his defensive line. Everton's Jared Branthwaite and Bayern Munich's Matthias de Ligt are among the players United are still interested in.
