EXCERPT: "Welcome to the Shuv Show. I’m your host, Christene Jackman.
Law, law, law, law, law . . .
I am not afraid of the word, “law.” I do not feel the need to use a softer euphemism for it. Nor do I consider “law” a bad word. In Biblical Hebrew the word “law” is torah.
The word, torah, is used 222 times in the TaNaKH (Gen.-Mal.) By contrast, the word, love, ahav, is used only 211 times. The study of law and covenant has been sorely lacking. Its abundant use in the Bible warrants a deeper look, don’t you think?

Its Greek equivalent nomos is used 197 times in Matt-Rev. In fact, the very first time the word nomos is used in the Brit Chadasha is in Matisyahu (Matthew) 5:17; where the Written Mosaic Law is upheld by Messiah Yeshua Himself:

"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others [to do] the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches [them,] he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matt. 5:17-19.

Fulfil (πληρόω play-rah’-oh) does not mean toss out as if no longer needed. To believe that, then you have Messiah saying: “I did not come to abolish but to abolish.”
Rubbish. It cannot mean delete. How do I know? Because the fact is that Blood Covenant does not have an expiration date. Fulfill means to bring to fullest meaning. Messiah will perfectly fulfill every prophecy about Him. How can people run right past this section of Scripture and ignore what Messiah Himself claims about the Law, the Written Torah, commonly known as the Law of Moses.

We find the very first instance in Scripture of the Biblical Hebrew word, תּוֹרָה torah in Beresheet/Genesis 26:5. Check this out:

“Because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My Charge, My Commandments, My Statutes and My Torah/Laws."

Uh, this is way before Mount Sinai, by the way. What laws do you think Abraham was keeping? The Mosaic Law given on Mount Sinai, was not a new thing, but a renewal thing. After 400 years in Egyptian bondage and mingling with their pagan gods, the Israelites needed a refresher course, a cleansing, and a renewal in the Ancient Covenant.

When you hear the phrase, “Law of Moses,” what is your visceral response? Is it: “Oh, legalism, burdensome, obsolete, Pharisaical,” and the like. If this is you, then hear what the Bible says.
Consider this: which has more weight in determining Truth: Your own fallible feelings or what the Bible actually says, in context? Here are the Scriptural terms and phrases that define His Laws/Torot; this is how God sees His Laws:

Holy, righteous, good, delightful, just ordinances and true laws, blameless – restoring the soul, it’s sure – making wise the peti (simple), you are to keep the Law within your heart, blessed are those He teaches of His Law, contains wonderful things, better than gold and silver, His law is truth. It is for a lamp, a light, for reproof, discipline. Brings happiness. It is great and glorious. That is may go well with you, It is your Life.
“He who keeps the law is a discerning son.” (Prov.)
"This book of the law [H8451] shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” Joshua 1:8

His Law is not burdensome. His commandments are eternal.

The Everlasting Eternal God makes everlasting covenants with commandments (terms). By cherry picking which of His Laws you keep, you are insinuating that many of them are somehow insufficient or a mistake. God says eternal. You say, obsolete. Forgive me if I listen to God rather than deceived teachers.
This is what God says:

Mishlei/Proverbs 28:9, “He who turns away his ear from listening to the Law (Torah); Even his prayer is an abomination (toeva).
Yeshayahu/Isaiah 24:5, “The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws (torah) violated statutes, broke the Everlasting Covenant.”
Do your due diligence and search out the Scriptures yourself – all of it - to see how God views His Covenants and His commandments . . . "
