Monument to Red Partisans demolished in Latvia

Local deputies decided that the memorial, which was installed in 1962 on the square of the city of Vilyaka, should be dismantled.

Initially, the monument was not included in the list of objects subject to dismantling on the territory of Latvia, due to the likelihood that there was a memorial burial site there.

However, probing showed the absence of remains, so the monument was demolished.
