Trump holds first campaign rally after assassination attempt

Donald Trump held his first rally since narrowly escaping an assassination attempt, where he mocked Democrats and compared former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to a “dog.”

Despite calling for national unity in his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, Trump did not address this theme in Grand Rapids.

Instead, he frequently criticized President Joe Biden and derided senior Democrats like Pelosi, who had urged Biden to withdraw from the race, Reuters has reported.
