"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence..." (2 Pet 1:3)

When we deny God's people the gifts He has given His church for the battle, in desperation they look elsewhere.

Who has seen the explosion of New Age teaching nowadays, even within churches? There are Christians now reading Gnostic writings to try and find new 'revelation.' People turn to counterfeits when the power gifts of God are restricted by church leaders.

"The people were very faint. And the people rushed on the spoil, and took sheep, oxen, and calves, and slaughtered them on the ground; and the people ate them with the blood. Then they told Saul, saying, 'Look, the people are sinning against the Lord by eating with the blood!'" (1 Sam 14:31-33)
