Opposition to the Illegal Asylum Center and Garda Síochána Brutality
Friday, July 19th, 6:00 PM - Crown Paints site, Malahide Road

The group Coolock Says NO organized a public meeting to discuss their opposition to the government's plans to establish an asylum center at the Crown Paints site on Malahide Road. The group expressed concerns about placing hundreds of unvetted migrants in this residential area and the brutal actions of Drew Harris's public order unit, which resulted in numerous injuries to community residents.

After the meeting, a peaceful march took place to the nearby Coolock Garda Station to lodge formal complaints against the violent police actions and the lack of dialogue with the residents of Coolock.

Other residents' groups (Ballymun Says No, Finglas Says No, East Wall Says No, NTMK Says No) and many Irish citizens opposing the current government's migration policy also participated in the event. The media attended to ensure the community's voice was heard.
