The Acolyte is finally over and its time for HateWatcher's full Acolyte Season 1 Review. At least we can rest easy knowing that, for now, The Acolyte can't hurt anyone else anymore. But of course, we have to assume that this show will get a season 2. Season 1 of The Acolyte was an amateurish mess of nonsense, contrivances, crappy dialogue, cringey scenes, cheap effects, and disrespect for the Star Wars canon. The main characters' motivations never stay consistent for more than a few minutes. Leslye Headland put EVERYTHING higher on her list of priorities than good storytelling, like propping up "representation" & "inclusion" and putting her own wife in the show. There's no question in our mind that this show looks like it cost nowhere near $180 Million, and we can only speculate where the money may have gone. With The Acolyte, Disney, Lucasfilm, and Kathleen Kennedy have done more irreparable harm to the Star Wars franchise, but at least they're consistent as EVERY recent release has done the same to different degrees. But The Acolyte is certainly the worst Star Wars media ever produced...at leas so far...
