HOSTIN: “... back on with Alyssa is this notion that if he chooses to step down, which I do agree with you, this — that’s his choice.”
HAINES: “That’s — it’s a legal choice.” [crosstalk]
HOSTIN: “It’s his choice. I’m talking about this pressure campaign. It’s his choice. Kamala, if she is leapfrogged and there’s some open convention, no Democratic nominee can win without the black vote. Black women will not support Kamala Harris being looked over. Why? Because she is ready.”
Goldberg: “Overlooked.”
HOSTIN: “Overlooked.”
BEHAR: “But is she —“
HOSTIN: “She is ready to be the president. She’s been in the Oval Office with him. She’s been in the Situation Room with him. How dare people suggest that she is incompetent.” [crosstalk]
FARAH GRIFFIN: “Just to be clear, I didn’t suggest absolutely —“ [crosstalk]
HOSTIN: “Not you.”
FARAH GRIFFIN: “She is entirely qualified. I do think that I would be stunned if they went a different direction and voters stayed home and let Trump win though, purely because the vice president was passed over.”
