Should Buddhists Be Vegetarian? with Brian Ruhe and Pannobhasa

Brian and I discuss a controversial topic in Buddhism: vegetarianism. Theravada Buddhists, and arguably the Buddha himself, eat/ate meat, and the ancient rules of monastic discipline allow meat eating even in the Mahayana rules of discipline...yet Mahayana Buddhists in particular denounce this, and western Buddhists apply extraverted utilitarian ethics to the issue which is alien to early Buddhist morality.
