What exactly did Messiah Yeshua mean by that statement?

EXCERPT: "Welcome to the Shuv Show. Shuv is a Biblical Hebrew word that means to return. Now is the time to shuv, to leave our ways and return to The Way, God’s Covenant Ways, as revealed in Scripture…all of Scripture. True talmidim, disciples of Messiah Yeshua do not cherry pick which of the Terms of the Covenant they want to obey. And Messiah’s commands are the same as the ones The Father had already set up long ago.

Do you remember this statement in Yochanan 6? Messiah was speaking in the Kafar Nachum synagogue on the Shabbat. Starting in verse 53, He said,

"Most assuredly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don't have life in yourselves. 54 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.”
(IS THAT COVENANT TALK OR WHAT!)

There is so much going on in Yochanan/John 6. Let’s look at a few items.
First of all, the question to ask yourself is not what it means to you living in these modern times, but what did it mean to those disciples and the crowd standing there that day, in that era? You have to ask yourself, what is the context?

Regarding eating His flesh and drinking His blood: obviously, Messiah is not telling them to literally eat His flesh and drink His blood—that would be breaking the Covenant commands, thereby disqualifying Him as the Messiah, making Him a law breaking apostate. They understand Yeshua is not talking literally. Whatever it really means, it was tough for many to accept and they rejected Him. So what is He really saying? . . . "
