Job 3:14, “With kings and counselors of the earth who built ruins for themselves.”

EXCERPT: "Welcome to the Shuv Show. Shuv is an ancient Hebrew word that means to repent, to turn and come back.

Lately, it seems that the biggest voices out there in the media are ones that stand opposed to our Creator. If God says don’t do this – that’s the thing they promote. If He says do this—they come up with rationalizations why you should not. They squeeze the intent of the Spirit out from every imagined loophole in the Law, bringing death.

It’s all very slick. In movies and TV shows, the person doing what God forbids will be the hero or the victim or the likeable comic. Why do they do this? Because it works. Their engaging storylines wear down our defenses. It convinces the biblically untrained to join their side.

Know for a certainty: there is a world behind this visible one. The spiritual realm is real. Scripture says so. Here are 3 witnesses, one from the Writings, one from the Prophets and one from the Apostolic Scriptures (Brit Chadasha):

“Now it happened on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, that Hasatan (The Adversary) also came among them.” + Iyov / Job 1:6 HNV

“He showed me Yehoshua the Kohen Gadol standing before the angel of the LORD, and Hasatan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.” + Zakhariah / Zechariah 3:1 HNV

“…For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places].” + Ephesians 6:12 NKJV

The Adversary and his cronies are determined foes of God Most High El Elyon. A few things come to mind in regards to engaging in spiritual warfare. Not an exhaustive list:

• Make sure you are standing in the center of The Covenant with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel. You enter via the blood of Messiah Yeshua who paid your sin debt so that you can be restored to proper covenant relationship with The Father. This is a free gift. You can’t earn it.
• Know the Word of God. Study the Original and you won’t fall for the Counterfeit.
• Do the Word. Put into practice the Lifestyle of the Redeemed Community which the Terms of The Covenant embody. You’ll find those commandments in Gen-Deut, the Foundational Scriptures.
• Understand the goals and tactics of the enemy.
• Rely on God’s power, not yours.
• Don’t go where angels fear to tread. Check your attitude.

Be more concerned with walking in covenant faithfulness out of gratitude than running after knowledge of the darkness. Light dispels darkness. Even blackest darkness runs from a tiny candle lit in a windowless room. We are to be lights. We’re kind of like the moon. The Moon does not generate its own light - - it merely reflects the light of the Sun illuminating its face. Our light comes from Him . . . "
