Through a series of rites and ceremonies, they created a system of moral lessons and a code of behavior that was handed on to newly joining members. These organizations developed with time into a more speculative group known as Freemasonry. Freemasonry nowadays is a fraternity open to those of good character believing in a Supreme Being. Emphasizing personal growth and self-improvement via a set of moral principles and symbols, this fraternity is based.
